About the work
The subject of the video work Someone is a story of identity, its foundations, variations, de-pictions, possibilities and origins. Someone is a film about the material we hide behind and use to create different realities in which centre we want to be. It is a way out helping us to say aloud our desires, fears and excitements more clearly and with more freedom, creating, at the same time, new delights and perspectives from where, being invisible, we can act more strongly, precisely and better.
The video is organised around the cast mask that is painted and made up on the face, the specific attempt of identity change, followed by other parts of the modern armour on the body of female identity - legs, posterior, breasts, neck, back, joints, made of lycra, nylon, wire, leather, impregnated paper, polished eco leather, rubber - materials from the vast assortment of the tools and forms of contemporary sculpture.
Video content and editing is therefore more working on sculpture than on drama and its plot is within the domain of erotica, that arts are so fond of, the domain simple to communicate yet very open and interesting to explore the essence, form and meaning.
