The installation Orbiting consists of a video animation, in which is shown my own body circling in a clockwise direction with the sound of seconds ticking, and a large black square with a circular central opening within the video is broadcasted.
In this work I was preoccupied with the experience of unsolvable, undefined waiting, in which the end and the final result remain uncertain. The image of the passive body in a sitting position, in a nightgown, is there to evoke a state of drowsiness, sleepiness but also anticipation. The act of waiting for something to happen, some possibility to change, or even promise of change is repeated like a clockwork mechanism creating a non-productive space.
Loss of meaning is inevitable when we think, more precisely when we experience repetition. The element of repetition and repetitive actions can very clearly emphasize the inconsistency and absurdity from which feelings of alienation and meaninglessness arise.
